Isn't It Amusing ? ........

............ that the City Website has just published a load of photos from today's 1st pre-season training session without a single reference to Sven being there for the 1st time (even if it is on an unofficial basis) ?

Shots of Sven and John Wardle watching the players being put through their paces have been splashed all over the Internet and shown on Sky Sports News, but strangely not a single reference on the City site.

It's not as if this is all hush-hush and that admission that Sven was at Carrington is somehow a big, dark secret - the whole bloody world knows about it, although if you were an alien visiting earth and only looked at the City website (highly unlikely that it would happen I know), you'd think it was just business as usual.....bizarre !

For those who haven't seen any of the photos check out the excellent Purelymancity website. There a link there and a very interesting article about Sven's approach to football psychology; it'll be interesting to see how that works on the City squad.

Anyways, let's hope that the takeover saga ends tomorrow with an announcement of Frank having secured the 75% of shares..... I can't take it much longer !!

perhaps it was a stunt pulled by the Daily Mirror and it wasn't Sven at all, but a look-a-like instead ;-)

also, Crouch is now a strong rumour

I can see the crouch and defoe thing happening to be honest with you - the postal strike has had alot to do with the delays this week and Im assuming that there will be an unvieling of manager and one MAJOR signing either tomorrow or thursday - we need to chill a little as the announcements MUST follow the 7.30 announcement of a 75% share holding to the market - I think they have got the 75% today on paper and will make the announcement the correct way in the morning followed by a midday manager and new player announcement to lift our spirits and give us something to talk about going into the weekend !

Can't beleive a rag has been on the site looking at City news and then making comments....
Think maybe they are a tad worried about Frank's spending power?

Maybe it will be more than the Rags that will be a tad worried.....ONWARDS AND UPWARDS...

Defoe thing wont happen Sven ignored him to take wallcott to world cup so defoe will never play for Sven to start with.

Besides with only 16 players on the books £50 million will not be enough to build a team to challenge for the top 6 spots thats for definite specialy knowing at club level Sven spends big on big names and now when a selling club knows that City have the money price of the player will double..just look at Daren Bent for £16.5 mil.

On top of that it is not only City have the money same applies to Nookhassle,Aston Villa,Portsmouth so they are already spending.Tottenham already showing a big financial muscle by spending on Bent and Bale and seems like more to come from them.

Sven will need at least 3 seasons to build a team.

It will not be as easy as most of the City fans think.

We know it isn't going to be easy but some shrewd signings together with the prospects from the Academy it shouldn't take a kings ransom to build a half decent team.

Some good points about City expectations and anonymous 9.06 is quite right that it'll take time to sort out the legacy of problems left by Keagan & Pearce. Let's hope the new regime have the guts to back the new manager and stick with a long term plan even if, as it will, hit some rocky periods along the road.
