City To Take Hit On Striker ?
Mounting speculation that City are considering cutting their losses on mis-firing striker Georgious Samaras and are prepared to let him go in the summer sales for around £2m.
Big Sam has certainly not enjoyed the best of times at Eastlands since he arrived from Heerenveen about 18 months ago with just 8 goals in 50 premiership appearances.
I've been critical of Samaras in the past, but I think it would be a mistake to let him go for relative peanuts; even if we get Shinawatra's money, City cannot really afford to take such a big hit on a player that we paid £6m for and who still at just 22, has much unfulfilled potential
In Samaras' defence, Psycho played him way out of position for the most part; most people could see he was not a left winger, except for the previous manager it seems. Playing him in unfamiliar roles dented his confidence badly and he went quickly into a downward spiral.
I would say that with the new manager coming in, it would be worth keeping Samaras for a while longer, as he can hardly play much worse than he did last season and perhaps Sven will be able to rejuvenate his career.
If Samaras doesn't rise to the new challenge, then by all means show him the door in the January window. Alternatively, perhaps loaning him out to a club that's going to give him regular football could be an option.
In any event, until City appoint the new manager and signings have been made, the situation is pretty academic; he won't go unless replacements have been signed up.

Keep him another season, i know he can do it. SP never played him in the correct position as we know, he has now got a prem season under his belt and will know what is expected of him.
I'd like to see him loaned out for 6 months. He is young and seems to have had his confidence destroyed. Even if his loan spell doesn't improve things, his value can't go much further down than it already is. What we want is this samaras back...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJNYfGNqTRE
If we keep Samaras, we need to sign some decent wingers to feed him some decent crosses into the box - can't understand why Pearce never played to his obvious strengths
He needs to stay a while as he has undoubted talent. Get a severe haircut, take some determination pills and be allowed to play in position, even in the reserves or on loan
quality player, defo keep the greek, loads of potential under new management, worth a second chance but please rid of dicky boy n the itilain baguette

Samaras could possibly flourish given the right management... And we all know whay would happen if we sold him on the cheap... He'd be knocking them in left right and centre and be worth £20 mil (possibly) in 2 years time!!!
As for Corradi he's just a slow t**t and worthless!!!
News has just broken that Svens on his way to Manchester and will take charge of training tomorrow !!!

I think another season would be a good idea before offloading him for peanuts. Loaning him out to see if he can improve for 6 months would be a good idea if we have enough cover in that position.
