amen brother. CTID

For certain I can tell you that they will give more ink about West Ham not being up for the game, still in pre season, rather than City doing the business.

Ah well just wait till our players adapt to the Premiership then the sparks will fly !!!

We are going to have to get used to this kind of crap.
The high profile take over and even higher profile manager has raised dramatically our clubs public image.
We are not now percieved as also rans by the media and as a big target more people throw stones.
Defend our corner, hit back at the critics, let them know how you feel.
At least we are becoming aware of who in the media are on our side, handfull though they are.

Tell them to f... right off. Oh and they can't have free tickets for the game. Make sure we as a club have nothing to do with this rag loving scum!!!!!!!!!!!

Copy of e-mail sent to the Daily/Sunday Mirror sports editor(s)

Not that you probably give a monkey's, but if you care to take a look at the many Manchester City websites and blogs, you'll find a strong anti-Daily and Sunday Mirror backlash among fans there, engendered of course, by your papers' pointless anti-City articles and stance.

Just pleased to see that many fans are now taking positive action and boycotting MGN papers and while it may not cause your staff too many sleepless nights, it all helps when it comes to seeing those ABC figures of yours sinking even lower than your standards.

Anyway, congratulations are in order, your papers are now even less well regarded than they were when Piers Morgan was around ... a startling achievement even for you.

Keep churning out your pro-London, pro-Manchester United nonsense and you'll continue to lose readers hand-over-fist up in this neck of the woods, something that will not be lost on advertisers, I'm sure.

Rabid reactionary? Not at all. Just a fan, old and daft enough to still buy newspapers, and who can tell the difference between good journalism and lazy, cliche-ridden drivel.

Probably hurt your reporter very much today that (s)he'll have to file on Sven's success - though it'll probably be aimed at WHU's failings rather than anything positive for the Blues, but don't worry eh, it surely won't be too long before things get back to normal and you can, once again, revert to type.

I'm glad to say that it appears you're rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic at the Mirror - and you're even making a bit of a balls of that, too.

Yes, I love it when we can stick it up them with results. Things are happening faster than I ever thought. I honestly don't know how we'll do against Derby - but then next week we'll all be there, hats on back to front, new scarves flying. If we can't stuff the scum this time... Who's going to stamp on the cheating piece of shit this time?

Anonymous said...

Oh, for God's sake. If we're going to have a go at the mirror (and rightly so) don't give them any more ammunition by not even being able to get our response right. "Up yours" is what you need to say. There is NO apostrophe. Come on lads, it isn't difficult.

Grammar was never my strong point, but hopefully the point is made nevertheless

Oh this is brilliant. Things are so good we can afford to argue about apostrophes. I love it! And Wayne - yes you're right Haven't read a report that mentioned our home grown boys yet. Didn't you all love Nedum's charge up the wing though!!!!!

We're City, we're barmy.....!

Sven says "NOBODY LIKES ME".

Reminds me of the old song:-

"Nobody likes me, the way I am,
Nobody likes me and I couldn't give a damn"

Neutral fans have always liked City, for the way we used to play, for the way our supporters turned up when we down in the third, for the fact that we were loveable rascals who never said die.

Those days are gone - we're going for the Premiership title. If they don't like us - stuff them. City are on the move - this is our chance team, and it isn't going to happen again.

ps Anyone else hate us being called "The Citizens" or the "City Slickers"? Allison's crap. We are Blues - if you don't like it.....

Just had another go at the Football Editor of the Guardian

"Once again, a disgustingly biased article concerning Manchester City, As the football editor of the newspaper that I grew up to believe was the "Manchester Guardian" you should know better. Our supporters have decided to boycott the Daily Mirror. That shouldn't even be a possibility for the Guardian, but whatever your agenda, it's becoming a distinct possibility. You may want to consider your paper's allegiance to the Salford team. £800 million in debt and no signs of paying any of it off.

Your newspaper's personal attacks on the Shinawatra family aren't funny any more. Have a go at the Glazers. Because somebody should...."

I know, it won't do any good, but what the hell!

Pathetic excuse for a newspaper - and the Times group is not much better. There was a discarded copy of the S.T. sports section down the pub at lunchtime. Their match report was by Brian Glanville, and if you read that you'd be under the illusion that Stephen Ireland went on the run that set Bianchi up for our first goal.

How can you get such a key moment so badly wrong? If his eyesight is that bad (or maybe he was watching on some dodgy internet site!) I think it's time he was retired off. Mind you, it's about as accurate as most of the rest of their reporting of City has been since the takeover :-)

Oh by the way, great start to the season lads, but I think 2nd place after day one is a bit of a false position - can't see Newcastle being above us for long!

Yes I will keep it up Bluesology. Just took a poke at the Times too. They seem to hate us for Sven's 4-4-2. My problem with Sven (as England manager) was that bloody stupid diamond he kept trying. 4-4-2 is absolutely fine for me, although we did seem to have just one up front on Saturday. What the hell, it worked!

Hello:

I thought you might find this interesting:

10/08/2007 15:09, Report by Ben Hibbs,on ManUnited.com, News & Features section.

Q & A: Sir Alex.
Sir Alex Ferguson fielded questions about the new Premier League season at his first press conference of 2007/08.

Q.6 Sven-Goran Eriksson has bought a few players - how do you think Manchester City will do?

A. "Well, buying nine or ten players is difficult. You can’t expect overnight success with that. It’s difficult to say how they’re going to do, but you wouldn’t expect them to be consistently good. As I know myself, it’s always difficult to build teams."

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2007/08/11/sven-snubbed-89520-19610493/

This is what the Daily Mirror reported.

Sven snubbed:
By David McDnnell 11/08/2007

And yesterday Fergie dismissed City's chances when he said: "Buying so many players it's difficult to expect any success."

Er. Not even close. Read the whole Mirror piece: trash journalism.

In the Times yesterday I read the usual drivel about Erikssons performance for England compared to what he has done with City - Thought you might be interested in my reply sent to their correspondent :

"Having read your report of Saturdays match and your comments regarding Erikssons performance with the England team. When will you media hacks realise that no England manager can make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

The media constantly hype the England team as being better than they actually are. Compared to foreign teams they are technically crap and the sooner this is realised the better.

McClaren will fare no better but as usual the media will lay the blame firmly at his door.

Now you might realise why Eriksson has signed so many gifted foreign players at a fraction of the price being asked for under achieving British players.

Also please note that whilst all you hacks are going on about all the foreign players being signed please note that we used FIVE Academy players on Saturday. How many other Premiership teams can boast that many ? "
