Just What Is The Point Of This ??

I don't know why the Mirror seem to have such a downer on City, but this latest "article" has descended to new depths of journalistic lows. Click Here

Over the summer, the Mirror in particular has published a series of poison-pen articles about our club, and I don't really understand why City are being singled out for this sort of treatment.

How come the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Portsmouth, Spurs and many other Premiership clubs haven't received similar treatment from the Mirror.

After all this rubbish, I would never buy the Mirror and hope other City fans will steer clear too.

I agree boycott the Mirror at all costs. Not 1 player they have linked us with has signed and they seem to hav a very anti - city attitude. Also the BBC have a lot to answer for they are supposed to be impartial!!!!

I believe we should start a complete boycott of the Mirror & the Sunday Mirror. They are both based in London so there is a good ( better than 505) chance the owner / editor is a dirty red. or he got food poisoning from a Thai curry

Its a Rag paper, pure and simple

The vitriolic anti-City tripe is there in some form every day

Pure Jealousy!! Lets see what they are saying at the end of the season once the new guys have gelled and produced the good

It is ridiculous and something that I noticed a lot of the media doing (none as bad as the Mirror though)....seems we have gone from the lovable 'cups for cock-ups' side to the team that the media are targetting.

The Mirror have had constant little snipes and digs all summer.

Siege mentality time!

The Mirror..they are lovers of the face that is Bacon. I take it as flattery, even some knob from sky sports reckon were going down! I read today about some bloke who I have never heard of who plays for wet ham said he never heard of any of our signings! give it a couple of months...they will have heard of them. I understand that supporting bacon face and McDebt is part of a wider syndrome born of suffering from a condition of not having a mind of your own which itself is linked to having a small one.. There you go. CTID

The other papers are much the same, if they don't openly attack the club they ignore us. At the last count there were supposedly 11 million people claiming that they were united supporters in this country, we have to accept that, and that it is too much of a tide for things like newspapers and commercial radio stations to run against, they need those numbers. The BBC should be capable of standing up to such pressures, but they seem unable to. The BBC should have in place a policy with their coverage of Premiership football similar to that concerning political parties, in other words equal air time or else, if for no other reason than that football clubs are businesses and the BBC shouldn't favour one business over another.

We shouldn't loose our sense of humour, as City fans surely we've developed the ability to laugh at ourselves over the past few years.....having said that I wouldn't buy the Mirror anyway (the quality of journalism in the whole paper reflects this article) and if anyone buys the Sun after that photo Of Foe they want to think again too.....let them laugh, let them hate us and lets see where we are in three years.

Go on to the mirrors website and email them. I just have. Probably won't do anything but it made me feel better when i told them what i thought of there unfair treatment of city and for them only treating city in this way. If you boycott they wont even notice so i recommend emailing them and letting them know what you think because at least they then know that we wont stand for our club being treated this way. City should boycott the media they feel are treating them wrongly.

The more they hate is the better we are

This is double standards from the mirror. One moment their tearing into the goverment for war crimes, then the next joking about homelessness.
Also didn't the same owner of this gutter press rag top, rip his workers off? running off with their pensions. A terrible paper. a RAG paper and NO city fan should be seen near it. Love City. CTID

The Mirror is A RAGS paper. It always as been. You shouldnt be surprised about what you read about our beloved City. I have never bought the Mirror because its cheap and nasty.

As for the BBC and you can also includes The Times, they have a campaign out on our Leader Frank. They seem to be the ones that trigger the unsavioury headlines.

Nice one "Blue is my colour".

I'm glad that others have noticed the vitriolic outpourings of the press this summer. In fact, I didn't think the Mirror was quite as bad as some of the others. The Times in particular has been absolutely terrible, as was the Guardian in the early days. I wrote to the Guardian, pointing out their roots as a Manchester newspaper, and how they should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of support for Manchester's 'real' team. I have to say that their stance has improved somewhat since then. The Mirror article is gibberish. Somebody will be fired for total incompetence when it comes to the attention of the editorial staff.

While I have no love for Liverpool, believing that their supporters brought the Highbury and Heysel disasters upon themselves, nevertheless, I've never bought a Sun or a News of the World since their scurrilous reporting of the Highbury incident. Maybe it hasn't made any difference. But maybe - just maybe, it has. They certainly don't sell many newspapers in the NorthWest any more.

Yes, we probably should adopt a 'siege mentality'. This season, and the next few are going to be stupendous for us blues. And when the bastards want to jump on the bandwagon, stuff them. Let them get nothing out of us.

nothing more than a wank mag for rags

Doesn't help when our own City website is gibberish too!

Hopefully it'll start to make sense when the match starts.

Register with the sly rags web site and start insulting back, just started this evening with two posts, dont go for the article hit the clown that wrote it.
Boycotting the red rag does no harm either, threatening to contact advertisers about the proposed boycott in Manchester will focus thier half witted thinking as well.
Fight back !

In all my years of reading the Mirror ir has always been a ManUtd paper, why, who cares. Lets face it, However much I hate the reds, they have won 9 premerships, last time we came close was a lousy night in May 1981, I was there, I think we are on the way back to the glory years of Lee, Bell, Summerbee, Willie donachie, Asa Hartford, Tueart, Marsh, it would be nice to have some new names on the list of blues who counted for trophies won, rather than just brill goals against the ememy.
