Thomas Cook Tournament Images

Just thought I'd post a few snaps of yesterday's event.

Not the best of games to watch, but friendlies never are. However, I thought there were some good signs that City will be more of a force this season; in particular, Petrov looks a real class act.

Johnson best city player by far- giovanni is another but younger/faster Bernabia . Bianchi is v good in air & holding balls, Petrov look as if he is very good but touch was a bit off needs a pre-season Garrido suffered in first half because he had a good winger to mark & Petrov was not covering - Garrido lot better in second half.
Elano looked good corradi was crap.

dunne was great but left CH is not his best position - we need a Left Centre half - Chiellini or the Slav guy from savilla We need Carson in goal - Iskaccson is ok but now injured - just like last year but now no Weaver as cover.

Agree with most of that, but a bit harsh on Bernardo, who didn't really have a lot of time to get into game.
Valencia a v.good outfit, so to lose so narrowly at this stage of season and with all the changes is not such a bad thing.

Agree, a bit harsh on Corrado in the few minutes he was on he looked a lot sharper than last year and could be the surprise package with Bianchi

Great photo's and thanks for sharing them with us.A very good city performance having been only together 24 hours against a top euro side. All the new signings impressed and there is a lot of skill there, eg Elano, Geo and Petrov. May we need a midfield enforcer.

Thanks for the pic's....Bresciano is hard working and has an amazing shot... watched him with palermo many times.... he is 100% in.. a friend of his says he is very excited about the move.

i think it was positive that we lost to valencia... keeps our ego's under control... and feet firmly on the ground. its not all going to happen overnight, but we have some very exciting new players.

Thank goodness it was a very friendly affair and hopefully one from which it would be unfair to draw conclusions. But why should that stop me. Geovanni was by far the best of the new boys, real class and we should build the team around him. Fernades looks very useful. Then, hmmm, Ball better than Garrido on that showing, Petov a complete waste of money, Elano slow and Bianchi looks like a Corradi/Samaras lovechild. Man City nil -says it all.

Think you must have been watching a different game

geovanni by far the best player yesterday followed by Fernades (even though at fault for the goal)
also Garrido played well, alot better then ball just not as good in the air. petrov and bianchi very dissapointing as was elano, just hope that was a one off. the other city old boys were good espically johnson, dunne, richards. corradi and hamman need the cut, waste of a substitution and can sven bring in dieago hes a real class act!

Hey BIGMAL... if you think Petrov is a complete waste of money I suggest you invest in a new pair of specs before the next match.

Player comments - Kasper - not sure,Nedum - nervy, Micah - class and getting bette,Dunney - good and could be a key player, Ferdie - 1 error but covered every inch of grass, one for the future but could now well start due to his showing,Petrov - Valencia know him too well and double marked him, sometimes three, will run riot,Elano pure class altho you could see he had just got off a plane the previous, Ireland and Johnson both did well but may be on the bench, Garrido did well against Jacquinn,Bianchi some good touches and will get the goals, Geo when he came on was pure class.Get on U tube and see these boys in action over a season, you will not be disappointed.

v.good photos but if you take some at the derby they might be even better.

Nothing wrong with Petrov from I saw Sunday. He had the right idea every time he got the ball.. run towards the opponents goal, he had his shots and was unlucky with one or two passes around the box. He'll score his fair share.

Nothing wrong with Elano's contribution neither, puts himself about a bit, though I can see him picking up a few bookings over the year. Give 'em time...the future is blue!
